Middle School Tryouts are May 7,8,9!
Thank you for your interest in LNCS Cheerleading! Our teams for the 2018-2019 season will be named May 11. We hope to see you for our team selection. If you are a transfer student just entering the LNCS Community you may still be eligible to try-out.
2018-2019 Tryouts
This page is designed to help you understand the expectations and commitment associated with LNC Cheerleading. We ask that parents and cheerleading candidates read this thoroughly together.
Tryout Overview and Team Eligibility
We look forward to each candidate bringing their best self to tryouts. The coach will be present and watching athletes during the entire tryout period. Please note: prior cheer experience, even at LNC, does not guarantee a spot on the team.
Candidates will be asked to perform the cheer, chant, and dance taught during clinics. The judges will also ask each candidate to show a toe touch, jump of their choice, and can choose to show up to one tumbling skill, if they have any.
Please see the below for the LNC Eligibility Guidelines. Please note academic eligibility to participate for Summer and Fall 2018 Cheerleading will be based off of the 2nd Semester Report Card in Spring 2018. With the timing of our tryout, an athlete could make a cheer squad, but be removed after the fourth quarter grades are posted if she is not academically eligible.

Time Commitment
Cheerleaders commit to the summer dates listed on the team calendar page. During the school year athletes should plan for 2-3 two hour practices and up to 2 games per week (basketball season). Cheerleaders are expected to commit to both football and basketball seasons.
Anticipated Costs
Cheerleading can be an expensive sport to be involved in. We want to be upfront about the cost so families can be aware beforehand. We do work hard to fundraise, as well as break costs up over a period of time so it is less of a burden on families.
